A new Silent Hill game has been revealed during the PlayStation State Of Play, and it's available right now.
While the Silent Hill 2 remake is what fans will have really been waiting for, this is a great surprise nonetheless, and it's called Silent Hill: The Short Message.
Take a look at the trailer for Silent Hill: The Short Message below.
While the trailer didn't give much away, it did reveal a never-before-seen protagonist, Anita, likely on another journey of self-discovery and spooky events.

The spin-off reportedly takes place in modern-day Germany, where Anita is exploring an unknown location called The Villa. Gameplay will be from a first-person perspective so it's knowingly giving off PT vibes.
Whether it'll have any connection to some of the other Silent Hill games or be completely standalone remains to be seen, but we're not complaining either way. We could all use some more Silent Hill in our lives to keep us on our toes.
The highlight of the whole announcement is you won't have to wait for it to release, you can experience everything it has to offer right now for free as it shadow dropped during the State Of Play showcase.
In the end, we did get additional gameplay for the Silent Hill 2 remake as well, and it looks absolutely thrilling. It's not due to release until later this year though so hopefully this game tides us over until its launch.
