The new PS5 Pro is set to officially go on sale on 7 November but it could be a tough sell for Sony thanks to one major problem.

The PS5 Pro has a GPU that is two-thirds larger than the standard PS5 and that means it can render games 45% faster. It has improved ray tracing and AI-drive upscaling that will mean better clarity on 4K TVs
The console goes on sale on Friday 7 November and you can get your hands on one here. Pre orders are already open and there are only a couple of days left to ensure you get one at launch if you are ordering online.

It will also herald the arrival of upgraded games to take advantage of the new hardware. EAFC, Fortnite, Baldur’s Gate and God of War Ragnarok have already been confirmed in a list of 30 games set to get an upgrade.
The only problem comes with the price of the console. The PS5 Pro costs £699 and does not come with a stand or a physical disk drive. That will be enough to put some people off buying the upgraded console and wait for the PS6 in a couple of years instead.

Amazon is selling the console for £699 but has thrown in Audible free when you pre order. EE has also launched pre orders for the console, as has the Playstation store itself here.
Can you get a discount on the PS5 Pro?

There is a way to get up to £225 off the price of the PS5 Pro. Amazon is offering cashback when you trade in an older PS5. An old PS5 with disk drive will bag you £225 in good condition and a PS5 Digital will earn you £185. Older consoles like the PS4 could knock £40 off the price of the PS5 Pro when you trade it in. You can check the value of your old consoles here.
