The Until Dawn remake for PlayStation 5 finally has a release date, and preorders are opening very soon.
As someone who recently played Until Dawn for the very first time, I’ve been patiently waiting for additional news on the remake.

The new version of the game has not only been updated visually to take full advantage of the PlayStation 5 hardware, it’s also been rebuilt in many ways, such as through new camera controls and even some story tweaks.

It’ll still be the story fans know and love, but it sounds like there’ll be a small rejig in order to keep returning players on their toes, after all, what would be the point of playing if you knew where the twists, turns and jumpscares are going to be?
For those who haven’t played Until Dawn yet by the way, you can play the whole thing for free via PlayStation Plus right now…
Visually it looks stunning, and no doubt the gameplay will be even better now thanks to those quality of life improvements and the enhanced DualSense controllers the PS5 has.
So when are you going to get your hands on the game? Well previous trailers said it’d be sometime late into 2024, but today PlayStation provided an update.

According to an official tweet and blogpost the Until Dawn remake will launch on 4 October later this year, just in time for the spooky season everybody…
If you want to make sure you’re there on day one check out the PlayStation store on 21 August, as that’s when official preorders will open.
I’m aiming to play the game with the Astro Bot-themed PS5 controller, so I can look down at its adorable face when the survival-horror action gets a little too intense…
The PlayStation 5 version of Until Dawn launches on 4 October this year, and will make for a killer Halloween game…
