PlayStation Plus is filled with absolute bangers and, particularly on PlayStation 5, there are some games that are deemed ‘must play’ by the community.
One such gem could be considered underrated by some, while other PlayStation Plus gamers think it’s a game with legions of fans who sing its praises constantly. Either way, you have to play Returnal.
Returnal is a brutal, but beautiful, PlayStation game that you can play right now with PS+
Adventurous_Paper_34 on Reddit decided to load up the game and was thrilled with what they found, commenting, “Jumped into Returnal tonight and man it feels so similar to the Metroid GameCube games from back in the day.

Returnal puts you on an obscure planet after a crash landing, and you need to take on difficult fights in order to discover answers to mysteries about space, but also yourself.
“Amazing game, the story was awesome too, one of those games I'll never forget because it was so unique,” says RevolutionKooky5285 who also says, “This game justified my PS5 purchase.”.
Mazgaj agrees with the hype - “I was blown away by the gameplay loop, the incredible story, the worlds, visuals, and sound design. Even though it’s been out for a while now, I still consider it one of the best releases of this generation.”
This is truly one of the better PS5 games, despite being incredibly tough.

My meagre skills could only get me about halfway through before I had to admit defeat, but the atmosphere and the drip-fed story are equally brilliant.
In testament to the difficulty level, one Redditor says, “Had the game since day one. I am yet to defest the 1st boss. 10/10 recommendation any time I have the chance.”
“It's a lot like Metroid Prime in terms of environment design,” comments apostleofhustle.
AsBestToast notes, “Beautiful game. Nice mix of metroidvania and cosmic horror.”
