PlayStation Plus subscribers stunned by banned game

PlayStation Plus subscribers stunned by banned game

It's such a banger too

PlayStation Plus’ fantastic October offering has been ruined, as one of the included games is banned in certain regions.

After a turbulent month for PlayStation with Astro Bot’s success and the PS5 Pro’s questionable existence all we’ve been left with is a promising month for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

To be fair, we’ve also been blessed with another Ghost Of Tsushima game titled Ghost Of Yōtei

In October subscribers will be able to download three phenomena games at no additional cost, WWE 2k24, Doki Doki Literature Club and Dead Space (2023).

Of course the standout game in that list is Dead Space, the remake of the beloved horror classic that quickly had players asking for a sequel.

It’s a great choice for October, especially with Halloween right around the corner, but unfortunately not everyone will be able to play it.

As it happens, Japan will not be getting Dead Space with their membership, as the game is banned for its gore and violence.

This was shared in a Reddit thread where it was also revealed Dead Space will be replaced with Utawarerumono: Lullaby to the Fallen instead.

Fan reactions to this news agreed that it’s a crying shame the Japanese audience won’t be able to play the horror title, with one subscriber pointing out that “Stellar Blade is way more violent, with a human being having limbs being severed, and they didn't censor or ban.”

“It sucks that Dead Space is banned in Japan. The Japanese are missing out on a great game,” added someone else.

In lighter news everyone else is pleased to have a chance to play the game, with one player saying they’ve been “trying to find motivation to get to the Dead Space remake and now I have it."

Dead Space, Doki Doki Literature Club and WWE 2k24 will all arrive on PlayStation Plus next month for all subscribers not in Japan.
