PlayStation Plus subscribers can earn free in-store credit through specific purchases, but that’s all going to change in 2025.
While it’s nice that PlayStation and Xbox give players the chance to earn in-store credit through their gaming activities and store activity it’s become harder and harder to reap the benefits over this past year.
Astro Bot is in the running for Game Of The Year, is it getting your vote?
PlayStation is arguably the biggest offender for this as if you want to convert the points you’ve earnt into store credit your only option is a £10 voucher, not a great offering.

To make matters worse there are further changes on the way for 2025, as Reddit user Lhaparen found out when they discovered you can still earn points for buying or extending a PlayStation Plus subscription.
You get points equivalent to how much you’ve spent on the subscription so while it isn’t a lot it’s just an added bonus to resubscribing.
Unfortunately one of the commenters reminded us that we won’t be able to earn points from March 2025 onwards, as PlayStation is once again changing the rules.
As you can imagine users aren’t happy with the planned changes, with one questioning why they don’t “ust get rid of the stupid stars program with how much its getting nerfed.”

Other users agreed, with another bringing up the lack of incentive to earn the points when you can hardly get any in-store credit out of them.
It’s made even worse by the fact points will expire now after a certain time has passed since earning them, so if you don’t rack up enough to spend on something you want in time they’ll end up being wasted.
PlayStation’s reward program needs an overhaul, or it needs scrapping entirely if it’ll continue to be ruined by these changes.
