Ender Lillies Quietus of the Knights is one of August’s free games on PlayStation Plus this month, and if you’d never heard of it beforehand then don’t worry - nobody else had either.
As TrueTrophies’ Lee Brady pointed out in a recent article, the player count for Ender Lillies Quietus of the Knights has shot up by a whopping 3200% since it landed on PS Plus.

As Lee explained, TrueTrophies can pinpoint the exact increase in player count due to their partnership with GameInsights, as they’re able to draw “PSN data from sources beyond TrueTrophies”.

They also pointed out that Ender Lillies Quietus of the Knights now ranks within the top 10 most redeemed PS Plus titles in 2024.
This is probably due to a combination of different factors, but it’s probably mostly down to people loving soulslikes at the moment and also because people are far more likely to download PS Plus titles they’ve never heard of.
The game isn’t your Bloodborne or Dark Souls kind of take on a soulslike however, as it’s a 2D affair - something more akin to Hollow Knight and Blasphemous.
The game also hit PS Plus alongside LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga and Five Nights At Freddy's Security Breach, neither of which have made their way into the aforementioned top 10.

Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights was developed by both Adglobe and Live Wire, and released back in June 2021 on both Steam and the Nintendo Switch.
It would later be ported to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S a week later, after which it would eventually find its way onto the PlayStation 4 on the 20th of July.
I personally haven’t got around to playing this one, but the critical reception is pretty strong. The PlayStation version of the game has a Metacritic score of 86, and critics seemed to unanimously agree that it’s a solid 8 out of 10.
