If you subscribe to the PlayStation Plus service you have access to a host of free video games at no extra cost which in the long run could save you money in comparison to purchasing multiple new video games each month.
PlayStation Plus also comes with additional perks such as exclusive discounts, DLC and more as well as of course, online multiplayer. Sony’s PlayStation Plus is available in three tiers, Essential, Extra and Premium. The higher the tier, the more games that you’ll have available to play. However, if you subscribe to Premium you can not only stream games and have access to trials, but you can also enjoy the benefit of Sony Pictures Core.
Check out the Sony Bravia Core (now Sony Pictures Core) trailer below!
What is Sony Pictures Core? This is a curated selection of movies from the service formally known as Bravia Core. PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers won't have a massive selection to choose from but there might be at least one or two movies that tickle your fancy. Everything else in Sony Pictures Core will cost money to view whether you rent or purchase that digital content. If you do purchase digital content from that platform, hopefully, Sony won't take it away from you.

A kind Reddit user has put together a list of movies on IMDB that makes it easier to see what’s available at no extra cost to PS Plus Premium subscribers when using Sony Pictures Core. It includes some absolute bangers such as Stand by Me, The Pursuit of Happyness, Arrival, District 9 and much more.
Sadly, Reddit users shared their frustration, not with Capital6238 who put together the list but with Sony for locking Sony Pictures Core behind the PS Plus Premium paywall.

“Unfortunately, it’s only for PS+ Premium, not for all PS+ subscribers,” replied TheDude3100. “This segregation of content is BS. They are already charging to play online and they break their subscription service into tiers like this?” exclaimed crazyrebel123.
“The best thing about Sony Pictures Core is the quality of the video that is streamed. It is much much better than any other streaming service but that is it. The amount of free movies for Premium users is very lacklustre at best,” said a disgruntled nightspell, not happy with the selection on offer.
I get why PlayStation Plus subscribers share the frustration, especially as the service keeps going up in price with the value of the Essential tier often being brought into question. It would be nice for the Sony Pictures Core offerings to be available to every subscriber, but that’s corporations for you.
