Another selection of free PlayStation Plus games have been revealed, though they’re not being favourably received.
Backlash following a PlayStation Plus announcement isn’t new. In fact, it could be said that it’s become the norm.
While that may be, it doesn’t make another “horrible” batch of free games any easier to come to terms with.

“NGL these ‘free’ games have been horrible lately. Sick of it and I am reconsidering my membership,” commented Redditor hiphoppakalolo.
To this, Technoist responded, “If you don’t play online it is absolutely not worth it. If you do, you don’t have much choice. But there is no point in expecting good monthly games, those days are long gone.”
Perhaps rubbing salt in the wound here, but fancy watching the Payday 3 trailer? It joins High on Life and Pac-Man World: Re-pac on the service this month.
As if this month’s offering wasn’t bad enough, according to fans, the matter only gets worse now that Sony is planning to introduce a major change to the service.

Its decision has led some to claim that PS Plus is a “scam”.
There’s still a year ahead of us before said change is implemented, but already the court of public opinion has convened.
Even if you’re pleased by Sony’s latest announcement, you’re still likely one of thousands who believe February’s free games are a “flop”.
As so often is the case, PlayStation’s service is being compared to Xbox Game Pass, as the dying embers of the console war linger still.

One gamer said, “Yes PS Plus is terrible now. Especially considering that Game Pass has so many great titles and releases, and costs less."
They added, “I have both, but I can't remember the last time I actually downloaded and played a game from PS plus. Maybe FF7 Remake?”
Interestingly, one user suggests that the console war is mainly to blame for PS Plus going down hill.
According to them, “It's been shit pretty much since they knew internally that they'd won the console war against Xbox. They don't have to try anymore, just expend the bare minimum effort going forward while overcharging the brand's sycophantic followers.”

The reason why may differ, but the consensus is that PS Plus isn’t worthwhile anymore.
