PlayStation Plus subscribers have been left feeling disappointed on several occasions this year when it comes to the service’s essential tier offerings, but many are now saying perhaps they judged one title too harshly.
It’s been a rocky year on the whole for PlayStation Plus subscribers following the price hike debacle and lacklustre free game offerings. Sony then announced cloud streaming and the Sony Pictures Core catalogue for premium tier subscribers, slightly improving the situation. August was initially seen as a particularly drab month, consisting of PGA Tour 2K23, Dreams, and Death’s Door. While the latter two are delightful games, the line-up lacked the ‘major AAA hit’ most subscribers are hoping to get in these kinds of drops. As reported by ComicBook though, fans agree that they judged PGA 2K23 too harshly.
Extra tier subscribers can grab the Game Award nominated Sea of Stars. Take a look at the game in action below.
Reddit user That_Mikeguy started off the Reddit thread saying, “Gotta say, I'm sorry I doubted all the people saying PGA [2K23] was a fun game. I was one of the ones that hated the fact that a golf game was added as a monthly game. As I see golf as one (if not the most) of the most boring sports around. I downloaded the game yesterday and haven't dropped it. It's simple and fun.” Plenty of others agreed with the user.

GrandTheftBae said, “It became my relaxing game for a bit! Got the platinum for it too,” while Dazzling_Adeptness11 added, “Love a good golf game. I always have some type of golf game on my console. Always fun to pick up and play.” User sregnig23 wrote, “Game is a lot more fun than it has any right to be. It's our group’s game when we aren't really in the mood or can't decide what to play.”
Unfortunately, you’ll need to have grabbed the game in August in order to play. This month though, you can pick up Mafia II, Dragon Ball The Breakers, and Aliens Fireteam Elite. We should find out the latest extra and premium tier offerings tomorrow, on 15 November.
