Subscribing to either PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass opens up a plethora of video games to play that we might not otherwise try whether they are AAA big hitters or indie darlings that have gone under the radar.
Take for example Sony’s PS Plus subscription service which is available in three tiers, Essential, Extra and Premium. PlayStation Plus Essential is basically the same service before Sony’s 2022 revision offering a small selection of new additions announced monthly as well as other perks such as discounts, exclusive DLC and more.

The higher the tier you subscribe to, the more games that you’ll have available. PS Plus Extra offers a wide variety of PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 titles, whereas the Premium tier offers classic titles, and extra benefits such as trials, cloud streaming, a selection of movies courtesy of Sony Pictures Core and so forth.

That all being said, the main reason that we subscribe to such services is so that we can play loads of video games, and one game that is worth your consideration in the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers is the underrated and gorgeous 2021 open-world game, Riders Republic from Ubisoft.
In our review of Riders Republic, we said: “Anyone experienced with this genre [of extreme sports] will have a bloody fantastic time here, and it's well worth picking up if you’re into it,” and if you subscribe to either PS Plus Extra and Premium, you can play the full game at no extra cost.
Riders Republic is a game that features a whole host of extreme sports events including mountain biking, snowboarding, skateboarding, wingsuit flying, and more. It also features up to 64 players online for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. That number is taken down to 20 on PS4 and Xbox One, but it’s still fun nonetheless.
Riders Republic is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
