Regardless of the tier that you subscribe to, there is plenty of value in PlayStation Plus, especially when you know where to look.
When Sony launched its newly revised version of PlayStation Plus in 2022, the subscription service jumped from a single tier to three tiers, each offering varied levels of content and value. Of course, the higher the tier, the more games and added bonuses you’ll have available.

For example, if you subscribe to the top Premium tier, you’ll have hundreds of video games to play in an instant from PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 to retro classics of yesteryear. What’s more, you also have additional perks such as cloud streaming, and a curated selection of free movies.

Furthermore, regardless of the tier, whether it be PS Plus Essential, Extra or Premium, you can take advantage of exclusive discounts and free DLC. However, the topic of today’s discussion, it’s all about the free game trials that are included in the PS Plus Premium tier.
In case you didn't know, the PS Plus Trials are exclusive to the Premium tier and not only do they give you full access to a game for typically several hours, but you’ll also earn Trophies and your progression will carry over into the full game, should you decide to make a purchase.
The best way to think of the PS Plus Trials is that they’re like glorified demos with additional benefits and to be honest, as a PS Plus Premium subscriber, I keep forgetting that I have access to hundreds of trials at no extra cost.
At the time of writing, PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers have access to 106 PS Plus Trials which include the likes of God of War Ragnarök, Baldur’s Gate 3, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, The Last of Us Part I and much more. Oh, and if you’re a sadist, you can even play The Lord of the Rings: Gollum to see how bad this game is.
