The latest PlayStation Plus Extra drop has a must-play game for any Fallout fan, amongst plenty of other quality titles.
While you could call February’s PlayStation Plus Extra offerings a mixed bag, subscribers actually seem quite satisfied with what’s being added this time around. One of the heavy-hitters is obviously Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, as while it’s arguably the weakest Assassin’s Creed game, it’s still a decent RPG. The topic of today’s discussion though is The Outer Worlds, which is a must-play for fans of Fallout.
Take a look at The Outer Worlds below.
Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic RPG series is renowned for delivering entertaining adventures filled with action, humour and memorable NPC questlines. Surprisingly the best Fallout game wasn’t even developed by Bethesda, it was Fallout: New Vegas, made by Obsidian Entertainment.

Fans have been dying for a sequel ever since, though Obsidian clearly had other plans, as several years later it basically released its own Fallout game titled The Outer Worlds. It was well-received but obviously lacked the 1960s/70s charm that the Fallout games have going for them. That being said, it boasted plenty of original ideas, with fun characters to meet, access to your own starship and plenty of side content to pad out a playthrough.
It was certainly good enough for a sequel, which is currently in development at the time of writing, and Obsidian is also having a go at making an Elder Scrolls-style game with Avowed.
The Outer Worlds will be available as part of your PlayStation Plus Extra of Premium subscription on 20 February, as will Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Need For Speed Unbound, Tales Of Arise, LEGO Jurassic World, LEGO Worlds, Roguebook, Rogue Lords and Tales Of Zestiria. Combined this month’s offering provides you with over 400 hours of content provided you play them all.
The Outer Worlds is also available on Xbox and PC platforms, and can be played for free via Xbox Game Pass.
