It’s all well and good PlayStation owing free PlayStation Plus access to its users, but the majority aren’t certain how to activate it.
As if any of you need reminding, last weekend PSN went down in a blanket outage that affected online games such as Fortnite, and Marvel Rivals.
By way of apology, PlayStation announced that it was giving all its PlayStation Plus members five free PS Plus days.

Naturally, fans initially criticised this olive branch, roasting the publisher’s free PS Plus offering for being meagre.
Now the smoke has cleared a little and the dust has settled, fans are wanting to know how they go about using those free PS Plus days.

On r/PlayStationPlus, New_Past_4489 asked, “When do we get the five free days of PS+? So, my PS Plus Extra just ended and I was wondering when we receive the five days. And am I even eligible now?”

It’s a reasonable question to ask, especially when they want to make the most of the freebie before having to fork out more cash for the service.
User Strange_Vision255 responded, “Based on the last time I remember this happening (after the 2014 Lizard Squad Christmas outage) Sony added the five days a few weeks after announcing it.”
This is the closest anyone has got to an answer thus far, though it’s one that’s proving frustrating for the fans unsure whether to renew their now-expired membership or not.
Despite claims that the five days activate at the end of your current subscription, this comment has been downvoted by users who can prove that hasn’t happened.

Unfortunately, now it’s a waiting game. The only way to potentially get answers is to reach out to customer support, and that’s an idea nobody is rushing to try.
Not wishing to be the bearer of even more bad news, but there’s a limited number of days left to claim six free RPGs before they are removed from the service.
When it rains, it pours, eh?
At least there are those five free PS Plus days… if we could only work out how to use them…
