PlayStation drops free download for strangest game we've ever seen

Deadly Premonition meets Football Manager and Ace Combat in this ridiculous-looking "mascot simulator"

A demo for what is quite possibly 2025’s weirdest game just dropped on PlayStation, which is really saying something considering that Baby Steps is set to drop this year.

Thank you in advance to Push Square's Stephen Tailby for originally spotting this one!

Promise Mascot Agency is something that truly has to be seen to be believed, which is for the best considering that a demo for the upcoming title just went live on the PlayStation Store.

Developer and publisher Kaizen Game Works Limited describe Promise Mascot Agency as a “mind-bending open-world narrative adventure mascot management simulator,” but frankly I’m not quite sure that description is (somehow) doing it justice.

It’s a deck building game, I think? But also it’s a management sim. At some point in the trailer someone shoots explosive mascots out of a car-shaped plane too, so I guess it’s also a flight simulator?

Plus it’s a “crime drama” according to the trailer so… it’s Slay the Spire meets Football Manager meets Ace Combat meets Deadly Premonition?

Look, whatever this is, I want to play it. Kaizen Game Works Limited’s last game, Paradise Killer, was relatively well-received (currently sitting it a "Very Positive" review score on Steam with over 2,800 reviews, 93% of which are positive), so I’m sure that there’s actually a good game buried under all of Promise Mascot Agency’s lunacy.

There’s no exact release date for Promise Mascot Agency as of writing, with the devs simply promising that it’ll drop sometime in 2025.

However, the demo for the game is now available on PlayStation, Xbox and Steam, so I’d wager that it’s relatively close to release.

Whenever it does drop though, you better believe I’ll be there on day one. This one looks set to be the cure to 2025’s video game burnout epidemic.
