Fans of the Resistance games are hoping the PlayStation 5 could revive the series as an exclusive shooter.
The PlayStation 5 isn’t short of exclusive games, in fact, it’s practically overflowing with them, like The Last Of Us, Horizon Forbidden West and much more. Even when the game is going to be available on other consoles, there's still a good chance it’ll be a timed PlayStation exclusive first.

That being said, fans are hoping for one more exclusive to be added to the list, the Resistance series, which is long overdue for a sequel or reboot.

Developed by Insomniac Games, currently best known for Marvel’s Spider-Man and the Ratchet & Clank franchise, Resistance was a first and third-person shooter series exclusive to PlayStation consoles. The games would throw players into a war between the British/Americans and a hostile alien race called the Chimera, not long after the events of WW2.
All games in the series scored favourably amongst fans and critics, yet there hasn’t been a new game since 2012 with the release of the spin-off title Resistance: Burning Skies. Years later, some fans are still holding out hope for a revival, and recently discussed the concept of one online.
Reddit user KylerRamos wanted to garner people’s interest in a continuation of the series, creating a thread that asked: “Would anyone like to see Insomniac or another developer take another shot at a new Resistance for PS5?”
They were met with a resounding yes, with many fans of the series hoping for a sequel, reboot, or remake as a new PlayStation 5 exclusive.

“Not even a new one. I’d play anything from a remaster to a remake if they put it on the 5. I LOVED the resistance series.”
“Yes. It was good franchise with some brilliant ideas.”
“I think enough time has passed and with the updated technology and unique weapons I think it would have enough to differentiate itself from the market. We could use a new PS exclusive FPS with a strong campaign and multiplayer.”
Insomniac Games seem preoccupied at the moment with upcoming superhero games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and The Wolverine, but that doesn’t mean they’re unlikely to revisit some of their past series at some point in the future, especially if there’s enough demand from fans,
