Each and every console generation is going to have its fair share of remakes and remasters.
Why? Well, it’s a great way of bringing older games to new players who may not have owned previous-gen consoles.
You need look no further than Until Dawn which launched almost a decade ago, despite it feeling like it originally released just yesterday.

Given that new sequel tease and the upcoming Until Dawn film, Sony is clearly looking to boost the profile of this specific IP.
Yes, the recent remake will appeal to existing fans but I’d argue it’s more aimed at those who’ve yet to experience Until Dawn for the first time - securing additional interest before that inevitable sequel is eventually announced.
With all of this in mind, I’m sure we’ll see additional PS4 and PS5 titles remastered or remade for the PlayStation 6, whenever that eventually lands.
Supposedly, the reveal of the PS6 is likely still at least three years away and yet fans are already debating what they’d like to see from the console.

Can you guess which remaster is topping many wishlists?
Yes, Bloodborne.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is set to land this month on 31 October. Take a look at the game in action below.
“It’s pretty obvious what Sony will do,” began Reddit user Educational_Ad8201. “Remaster it to launch around the same time as the PS6, like with Demon Souls for PS5.”

I’m hesitant to agree. While it does, on one hand, feel like a no brainer, you have to question why Sony hasn’t already enacted this plan when either the PS5 or PS5 Pro were unveiled.
I’m actually surprised to see that on the whole, Bloodborne fans appear to have given up hope.

“Just give it a rest,” added CockroachNo7331.

Sony’s remake/remaster strategy, as of late, does follow a certain pattern.
The Last of Us Part I was remade ahead of the launch of the HBO show.
Until Dawn has been remade ahead of the aforementioned film and rumoured sequel.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is set to launch ahead of a multiplayer entry and third mainline instalment. There was, originally, supposed to be a Netflix adaptation too.

If Sony doesn’t have any wider plans for Bloodborne, I’m of the impression that they may just leave the franchise alone.
