If I had a nickel for every time GAMINGbible published a story regarding people's exasperated fans responses to Sony's system updates, I'd have two nickels - which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice in one day.
The PS5 system version 24.05 update dropped last night, and folks are already poking fun at Sony for how underwhelming it is.
Now, to be fair, it wasn't all useless. The update did include some nice quality of life updates for stuff like voice commands, the PS5's Game Help function, and a user-friendly way to invite other players to game sessions by allowing users to share links with each other.

That's pretty much it as far as the specifics go. In regards to the non-specifics, Sony were also happy to share those as well.
Updates were listed for "system software performance and stability" and "wireless controller" stability, which apparently amused several PS5 players due to how inherently vague said improvements are.
Reactions varied from stuff like "Nothing gets me going quite like a changelog with “Minor changes and improvements.”" to cheekier comments such as "Do not update: my PS5 is now SO STABLE, that I can’t play it due to the Earth’s rotation. I now have to book a trip to the International Space Station."
Buried amongst all the sass was one interesting comment from one user in Korea.

The change, unlisted in the English patch notes for the update, noted that Korean players had suddenly started getting pinged every time they played for a certain amount of time: "Surely no one will notice since it's Korea specific, but I received a system message while playing telling me to take a pause because I was playing for one hour. Wasn't here before the update!"
Exactly why Sony silently rolled this update out for players in Korea specifically is currently undetermined, but it's not the first time that such restrictions have been put on South Korean player's gaming habits.
