Ahead of the weekend, PlayStation has released an epic remaster of a 2006 classic and better yet, it is absolutely free to try out.
First released almost 20-years ago, Dead Rising welcomed a remaster back in September and now it is free on the PS Store for a limited time.

Developed by Capcom, the story follows freelance journalist Frank West who, after sniffing out an exclusive scoop, makes his way into the only shopping mall in town.

However, the mall has now been overrun by the walking dead and Frank must try and survive for 72 hours until help arrives.
With the original Dead Rising being a classic zombie survival game, the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster boasts a full graphical overhaul, a fully voiced cast and many more quality-of-life features.
Our very own Richard Lee Breslin was lucky enough to review the remaster earlier this year and called it “a fantastic modern revival”.
“With the visual and gameplay improvements, there’s more than enough to encourage veteran fans to reinvest in this remaster while making those new feel welcome,” he said.

“In fact, considering all the improvements made to the 2024 version, I’d say it resembles a remake more than a remaster.”
Now Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered is free to try out on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro courtesy of a demo.
Demo progress will not be carried over if you should buy the full game but it will still give you a decent amount of time to experience the game before you commit to the full purchase.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered currently sits at a “very positive” rating on Steam with players praising its smoother gameplay, autosave features and better survivor AI.
