New PlayStation hardware is leaving fans seriously impressed

New PlayStation hardware, the PULSE Elite and Explore, are leaving fans seriously impressed.

PlayStation is putting out new hardware like there’s no tomorrow. Seriously, I can hardly keep up. The latest offerings, the PULSE Explore and PULSE Elite headphones are already dazzling fans.

You’ll need a pretty big jar of pennies if you want to stay up to date with the latest PlayStation hardware. The major headline is that we’re, of course, getting a brand new redesigned PlayStation 5. Featuring a detachable disc drive, the console will launch this month and also benefits from reduced weight and volume, and extended storage. Once the original PlayStation 5 has sold out, the new model will become the default. Then, there’s also the upcoming PlayStation Portal - a handheld PS5 streaming device. You can now also add the PULSE Elite and PULSE Explore headphones to that list.

Take a look at the upcoming PlayStation Portal in action below.

Both the PULSE Elite and Explore are “the first PlayStation audio devices to use custom-designed planar magnetic drivers for an audiophile-level listening experience normally found in premium headphones for professional sound engineers,” according to the PlayStation blog. The Elite will retail for £129.99, while the Explore are slightly pricier at £199.99. You can’t get your hands on either just yet though.

The PULSE Explore wireless buds are due to launch on 6 December in the US, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Japan, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The Elite headset will then release on 21 February in most global markets. A PlayStation Link USB Adaptor can be purchased additionally for £19.99.

Despite this though, fans are already impressed with the listed features. “Actually really excited for the buds,” one fan wrote, while another added, “These are surprisingly high quality for the price! I haven't decided on the Portal yet, but I am excited about this! Nice to see Sony making some high-end headphones for gaming.” Let’s hope they live up to our expectations.
