Marvel’s Spider-Man fans are patiently waiting for the New Game+ update, and Insomniac Games has an update for them.
While Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was a phenomenal game, and one of the best reasons to get a PlayStation 5, aside from The Last Of Us, it was missing a few key components at launch. One of those things was a New Game+ mode, which would allow you to replay the game with all of your unlocked suits, gadgets and abilities.

Insomniac Games promised fans that a quality-of-life update was in development for the game. The update will add the now long-awaited New Game+ mode, as well as other fan-requested features like changing the time of day for some night time swinging. The update was planned for release in December 2023 but was unfortunately delayed to this year.

Now though the developer has provided a small tease on the update, after a fan asked them about its progress. In a tweet Insomniac Games said that the team “is still working on it,” and it’s “delighted to share more news soon.”
That’s probably not the update fans were hoping for as we’re still yet to receive a release date, or at the very least a release window. However we can all take comfort in knowing it’s still on the way and hopefully the extra development time has led to some additional features or changes that fans will love to see added to the game, possibly some new suits as a bonus.

It’s also believed DLC expansions will be released for the game during this year, adding new missions, story, and some new boss battles for Peter and Miles to fight. Hopefully a PC port of the game is also planned for a 2024 release.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is available now, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
