One of PlayStation’s biggest games of 2023 now has a two-hour trial for players to get a taste of the action. It seems, however, that some a feeling a little torn on this prospect.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a brilliant experience that not only satisfies in terms of story and action but also showcases the PlayStation 5’s power. It’s a superb action game that doesn’t outstay its welcome and delivers as a follow-up to the previous two iterations in the franchise.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was one of 2023's stand out titles
Using a two-hour trial is a great way to discover if the game is for you, and with this latest trial, you can get a good amount of story and action. Though this should be something celebrated, some are taking issue with the trial. It seems the main issue is the size of the download for just two hours of playtime as the game’s download clocks in at over 50GB - one user on Reddit commented “That’s what? 50gigs of download for 2 hours of play? Ouch.” While another retorted “Cyberpunk has a five-hour trial, but that game is over 100 gigs.”

Others are upset that the two hours played will actually be a large portion of the game as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was a relatively short game compared to some modern action games with one Redditor saying “Wow that's like 15% of the story” or another who clapped back with “You could do like a quarter of the game in that time lol”
Wherever you fall in this argument, having a decent length demo for one of the best comic book video games of the last few years is a good thing. Whether you’re coming with the previous two games under your belt or are new to the franchise, this is a great look at a brilliant game that deserves to be played.
