The internet can be a wonderful place not only for an unlimited source of information, but it also allows us to communicate with just about everyone anywhere in the world for better or worse. If you’re lucky, you might even forge a friendship or two. It can also be a nasty place with faceless folk hiding behind a keyboard in anonymity.
In 2023 we were blessed with so many amazing video games from Baldur’s Gate 3, Alan Wake 2, Super Mario Bros. Wonder and much more. We were also treated to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, released exclusively for the PlayStation 5.

In our review of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we said: “This is an amazing fantasy come to life and realised like never before. Insomniac Games has crafted yet another heartfelt Spider-Man story bursting with twists, turns, and show-stopping spectacle.”

In the first Marvel’s Spider-Man of 2018, one of the leading characters was Peter Parker's love interest, Mary Jane Watson and she would also return in the sequel playing an even more pivotal role than before. However, despite featuring the same actress and face model, the latter being Stephanie Tyler, MJ’s face was a little different in the sequel and for some reason, some corners of the internet did not like that subtle change.
As such, to put it bluntly, those corners of the internet have been rather nasty to Stephanie Tyler and as a result, she’s been forced to beg creepy gamers to leave her alone. On 8 January 2024, Tyler said in an Instagram post that some followers have “crossed boundaries” and even went as far as calling her place of work and leaving voice messages which she called out as “stalking.”

Tyler said that she now feels “unsafe and uncomfortable” and that she is “no longer an actively auditioning actor or model.” Just think of that for a second, because of a nasty few, someone feels like they can no longer do what they love to do in life. It’s a damn shame and those that feel like they have a right to harass and bully like this need to ask themselves some serious questions.
We at GAMINGbible hope that Stephanie Tyler is as well as she can be and that she feels safe enough to return to what she loves doing again one day.
