God Of War 6 seemingly confirmed via job listing

God Of War 6 seemingly confirmed via job listing

Pray for the gods!

It should come as no surprise that a new God of War game is on the way and while there’s been no official announcement just yet, a job listing has hinted at its pending arrival.

Other than seeing many releases since the God of War inception on PlayStation 2 in 2005 being the clearest indication that we won't see the end of this series anytime soon, the next adventure of Kratos was seemingly hinted at in the free God of War Ragnarök DLC, Valhalla.

Recently, God of War developer Santa Monica Studio teased that it was working on a new game, and it will not be related to the adventures of Kratos but is instead, a brand new IP. Excitingly, this will be the studio's first non-God of War game in roughly 20 years.

As exciting as news of the new IP is, understandably, some fans will be hoping for news on the next God of War game. While that announcement has not been made official at the time of writing, Santa Monica Studio is currently advertising job vacancies to work on a game that sounds a lot like God of War.

“Santa Monica Studio hiring for potentially more God of War games,” posted Reddit user fo1mock3 (via Tech4Gamers), sharing information related to a senior combat designer position.

The job position in question requires the world-be applicant to “speak to and discuss, in-depth, hero combat systems, mechanics, and enemies in one or more 3rd person melee action RPGs.”

Perhaps more interestingly, the job listing also states a requirement for “candidates who are fluent with the combat design choices, systems, mechanics, and enemies in God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök (2022) are preferred.”

At this time, we have no idea when the next God of War game might be released or whether it will launch on PlayStation 5 or beyond. Only time will tell.

As always, we’ll keep you posted when we hear further developments on what’s cooking at Santa Monica Studio.
