It seems that ever since Death Stranding 2: On The Beach was first announced at The Game Awards in 2022, fans have been starved of new information on the highly anticipated sequel.
Developed by Kojima Productions, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is the sequel to the critically acclaimed game of 2019. Earlier this year at Sony's State of Play online event, we were treated to a new trailer for the sequel but to be fair, in typical Hideo Kojima fashion, the most recent trailer left us with more questions than answers.
Check out the Death Stranding 2: On The Beach trailer below!
“Sam—with companions by his side—sets out on a new journey to save humanity from extinction,” reads the very vague description of Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. “Join them as they traverse a world beset by otherworldly enemies, obstacles and a haunting question: should we have connected?”

While it may be optimistic with the hope of seeing PlayStation 5 exclusive Death Stranding 2: On The Beach at Summer Game Fest next month, lead developer and creator of the Metal Gear series Hideo Kojima provided a promising update to fans.
As reported by Famitsu (thanks Comicbook.com), on a recent episode of the Japanese NHK radio show, Hideo Kojima revealed that shooting and recording have recently been completed with its cast of actors which includes Normal Reedus, Léa Seydoux and Troy Baker. It may be a while until we see new footage of the sequel but at least we know that one major milestone has been achieved in its production.
Hideo Kojima is known for not rushing games out of the door to meet strict deadlines, which is likely a reason why he’s achieved so much success over the decades and I expect Death Stranding 2: On The Beach to be no exception.
At the time of writing, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach does not have a solid release date but it is currently confirmed to be released on PlayStation 5 sometime in 2025. As always, we’ll keep you posted when we get more information on the sequel.
