It has taken 14 years but it seems that PC gamers may finally get their hands on Red Dead Redemption from Rockstar Games.
This is according to dataminer ‘Tez2’ who discovered new ‘marketing strings’ after a launcher update for PC. Within this information was a revealing line of text on the future of the game.
PC gamers will hopefully finally get the chance to play Red Dead Redemption.
The text itself reads, “RDR_ProductPromotion_Intro_Body", and is followed by, "Journey across the sprawling American West and Mexico in Red Dead Redemption, and its zombie-horror companion, Undead Nightmare - now playable on PC."

Obviously, we’ll have to wait on Rockstar Games for a formal announcement, but this is compelling information that suggests that Red Dead Redemption is finally coming to PC.
There is some validity to the updated strings in the launcher as they’re written into the code in the exact same way other promotions occur within the launcher.
It would make sense for the studio to finally push the beloved game over to PC given how successful its sequel has become. Fans of the franchise have been begging to see this release and now it looks promising.
It’s likely that we’ll see the remastered edition of the game which recently made its way to other platforms, but many will be holding out hope for the modding scene, where the community is bound to already have ideas on how they will expand the game.

Until now, PC gamers have only been able to play the game via emulation, or by abandoning the platform and playing it via console, so this news is welcomed.
Now the speculation begins as to whether the game will support PC-centric features like ultra-widescreen monitors, increased FPS, and graphical improvements. Fingers are crossed that we hear more news on this very soon, but it looks like its time to saddle up.
