Later this year, Red Dead Redemption 2 will celebrate its sixth birthday.
Thankfully, it’s still pretty easy to have a good time in Rockstar Games’ rootin’ tootin’ open world title, namely because of how exquisitely detailed it is.
With each new playthrough, there’s always a fresh discovery to be made from a gruesome discovery about pigs to a hidden smuggler’s tunnel.

If you are starting to, dare I say, find that your Red Dead Redemption 2 playthroughs are getting a tad mundane, then I have the perfect mod to overhaul your experience.
Promised by its creator to “change RDR2 forever,” the mod in question is ‘RDR2 - DSX’.
Created by NexusMods user Shtivi, the mod essentially introduces support for Sony’s DualSense controller, adding new adaptive triggers and visual status indications.
Take a look at some of our favourite Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below.
The mod will allow for adaptive triggers via the DualSense for a number of weapons and items, including guns, throwables, the bow, lasso, and fishing rod.

To reflect your health, the controller's LED “will go from green to red as your health gets lower”. If overpowered, it will turn gold, which’ll fade as the effect wears off.
In terms of your stamina, the controller's LED has a “breathing effect”, which will get more frequent as your stamina gets lower. When mounted on a horse, your horse’s stamina will be reflected instead.
When Dead Eye is activated, the controller's LED light will turn red. This also will fade as your Dead Eye level decreases.
It goes without saying that you’ll need a DualSense controller to make use of this mod.

The mod itself is totally free but you will need DSX already installed - a paid programme that permits for PC DualSense integration. You can grab this for just £6.69 on Steam, correct at the time of writing.
It’s a great way for PC players to totally overhaul the base game.
