As if Red Dead Redemption 2 didn't already look absolutely gorgeous, this free download takes its visuals to a new level.
Released in 2018, Rockstar Games had yet another masterpiece on its hands with the arrival of the prequel to the 2010 title, Red Dead Redemption 2. Even when being played on its original platforms, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, there are not many games that look better to this day.

“Red Dead Redemption 2 is the epic tale of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the infamous Van der Linde gang, on the run across America at the dawn of the modern age,” reads the synopsis of the game. If for whatever reason you’ve not played this gem, you should change that ASAP.

A year after its console release, Red Dead Redemption 2 arrived on PC. Natively, the prequel already looks and performs better than its console counterparts but thanks to the ever-vibrant modding community, this Wild West classic has been taken to the next level.
One such mod is created by averageSE called ‘Van der Linde’s Vision - A Graphics Overhaul’ and it's available to download for free right now via NexusMods.
As the name of this mod suggests, it makes Red Dead Redemption 2 arguably look better than ever. However, despite its name, it seems to have very little to do with Dutch Van Der Linde specifically, but it’s an awesome mod nonetheless.
AverageSE has gone to great lengths to make this photo-realistic mod a work of art. In the description of the mod, it’s explained that it was created after three months of studying photography as well as a trip to the mountains to nail its gorgeous visuals.

What’s more, it’s not just the textures of the environments that have been improved, but also how the sun sets and rises, and the way the dynamic clouds change shape depending on the weather, with enhanced water reflections also added in.
Sadly, as with the nature of most mods, this one is only compatible with the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2.
