Who doesn't love free video games, especially during the current cost-of-living crisis? If you want to check out some freebies, then we’ve got you covered.
Recently, gamers have been able to claim fantastic free video games on PC, including the Pokémon-inspired Yolk Heroes: A Long Tamago which is described by the developers as: “Part digital pet game, part RPG adventure, and part casual idle game." It's up to the player to become a guardian spirit and watch over the Fairy Queen while she grows into a hero who will battle the Dark Lord, and "bring peace to the land.”

What’s more, PC gamers are also able to try the upcoming puzzle game from Devolver Digital and Croteam, none other than The Talos Principle 2 which is already shaping up to be one of the best-looking games of 2023.

So what other free video games can PC players claim, I hear you ask? In a tweet shared by the Twitter account FreeSteamGames, you can claim the off-road racer, Need for Spirit: Off-Road Edition. That name sounds familiar somehow, I don’t know why.
Next up, we have Abandoned Souls and Silent Nights. Abandoned Souls is said to be “a realistic horror game created in the style of found footage". Whereas Silent Nights is described as a "psychological, walking simulator" and is in no way Christmas Carol-themed (probably).
The next free game is Catrina’s Halloween Nightmare. “It's been three years since the Halloween Party massacre tragedy. Catrina wants nothing to do with Halloween, but her best friend Hope convinces her to attend a small reunion, she can't keep avoiding this night forever,” reads the synopsis of the game. “Besides, what are the odds of the same thing happening twice? Grin Pumpkin is back.”
Finally, in Blank Relish, you will: “Embark on a journey alongside Private Marian, who lost everything during his crash on an unknown planet, devoid of companionship and lacking his equipment... Will he survive the challenge and come back home?”

A lot of the above games are horror-themed, which is perfect for the Halloween season. Muhahahahaaa!
