Hogwarts Legacy can now be played with friends thanks to a multiplayer mod.
In case you missed it, Hogwarts Legacy now has official mod support, enabling players to let their weird and wonderful minds loose in the Harry Potter world.
You can see the trailer for the update below, along with some examples from the developers of what’s now possible.
Mods were a thing in the game prior to the update, but now it’s easier than ever to get them working with the game and so far, it’s been a monumental success for the Wizarding World title.

Arguably the coolest mod yet though is the ability to play the game with friends in an actual multiplayer mode.
'HogWarp - Multiplayer' has had a few teething issues, but it allows players to hang out with each other on the castle grounds, rather than just the NPCs and beasts lurking outside.
There are restrictions, of course. It’s not like you can play the whole game from start to finish with a buddy as cool as that would be; it’s restricted to just standing around with each other for the time being.
If anything, it makes locations like The Great Hall and house common rooms more interesting, as they're finally populated with actual people rather than AI.

While you can enjoy the mod right now via NexusMods, it does have us wondering if the developers plan to include an actual multiplayer mode in Hogwarts Legacy 2, which is confirmed to be on the cards.
We’re unsure how exactly it’d work but an MMO style Hogwarts Legacy sequel sounds pretty cool, with the option to take your friends into story missions if you wish.
For a franchise defined by three friends saving the wizarding world together, it feels like a no-brainer to have a co-op game further down the line, and this mod shows us what that could look like if done well.
