Halo clashes with Star Wars Battlefront in exciting new expansion

Halo clashes with Star Wars Battlefront in exciting new expansion

The crossover of a lifetime

The mad modders of the Halo community are releasing a brand-new expansion pack for Halo: Reach, which will see Spartans set foot in the galaxy far, far away…

That’s right Halo: Reach is essentially getting combined with Star Wars Battlefront 2, featuring new planets to fight over and iconic vehicles from the Star Wars universe, including starfighters.

That’s not the only exciting addition to Halo this month, as Halo: Infinite was recently updated with a third-person mode

It’s called The Battlefront Pack, and actually had its start as a Halo 3 mod which you can still download today, but now the mod’s creators have applied it to Halo: Reach as well.

While there’s a lot to be excited about regarding The Battlefront Pack being ported to Halo: Reach, the highlight is obviously the space battles.

Space battles were used for exactly one mission of Halo: Reach and unfortunately never made it into the multiplayer, a crying shame as it would have been awesome.

In Halo 4 you could fly another ship but with even less freedom, and again it didn’t make its way into the multiplayer.

Fortunately the mod throws you back into the cockpit of an X-Wing as you engage other players and battle cruisers for dominion of the planetary orbit, and it’s incredibly cool.

You’ll also be going to war on the ground on the recognisable world of Geonosis, the setting for Star Wars: Attack Of The Clones, and have both Halo and Star Wars hardware at your disposal.

Speeder bikes, the Warthog, Republic Tanks, all are available and make for an interesting online experience.

The mod is being put together by abyssquick, which posted videos of the mod in action on X as well as YouTube.

It’s unknown if and when the mod will become available to the public, but hopefully it does soon as it looks like a must-play for anyone with Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
