A new Fallout conversion mod seamlessly combines Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas into one enormous adventure.

Titled Fallout: Tale of Two Wastelands, the mod merges the two games into one continuous playthrough, allowing you to travel between both game’s open worlds, as well as follow one main questline.

Take a look at Bethesda’s latest title, Starfield, below

Aside from being a post-apocalyptic whistle-stop tour of the Mojave and Capital wastelands, it also takes the best of both games and combines them to create a truly definitive experience.

All the bells and whistles from Fallout New Vegas, like the companion wheel, companion perks, crafting recipes and more all work in the Fallout 3 parts of the game, and vice versa. These additions haven’t just been slapped in either, they’ve been meticulously tweaked and balanced in order to maintain the right level of challenge throughout the experience.

In order to navigate between the two open worlds, players will need to catch a train that’ll transport them to and from the other map.

It also alters the level cap, fixes several bugs and performance issues found in the original games, and even restores some of the cut content from both titles. It’s even compatible with other mods, though the results may vary.

The mod supports the Fallout 3 Retail, Steam, GoG and Epic Games Store Game of the Year Editions as well as the Fallout New Vegas Steam and GoG Ultimate versions, and can be installed on your PC here.

If you’ve been struggling to decide which of the two games to play, either for the first time or 50th, this mod will be well worth your consideration, as it basically gives you two Fallout adventures in one, along with plenty of bonus features and upgrades to revitalise the experience.
