It’s set to be a pretty monumental month for Fallout fans - and no, I’m not in any way referencing Fallout 5.

Instead, fans of the franchise will finally be able to play as a ghoul when Fallout 76 drops its ‘Ghoul Within’ update on 18 March.

As cool as that is, it’s Fallout 5 that fans yearn for.

I wish I could tell you something other than it remains very many years away, but that’s the cold, hard truth.

Prime Video’s second season of Fallout will likely land next year to help keep us occupied, with filming currently underway.

And I have a Fallout 4 open-world secret that you might’ve missed that I’d like to draw your attention to too, serving as an additional distraction.

Did you know that Diamond City celebrates Christmas?

ICYMI: We played snog, marry, irradiate with the cast of Fallout.

It’s something I personally picked up on, but there are plenty of players who haven’t to this very day.

“Just learned today that Diamond City does Christmas,” wrote Reddit user a-more-clever-name.

“I’ve been on Fallout 4 for years with multiple characters and just learned today after a guard said something in passing about Christmas at 04.03am as I was leaving the Dugout Inn. Holy c**p. Makes the game that much more immersive for me.”

If you want to catch this event for yourself, it happens on the in-game date of 25 December - bear in mind that you wake up on 23 October, which acts as the game's starting point.

I’m pretty sure you can find the decorations up on Christmas Eve, 24 December, as well, so stumbling across this ‘secret’ is really all down to timing.

TheHitmanMaul adds that the location celebrates Halloween too which I now feel like I’ll have to try and check out.

Admittedly, yes, this discovery isn’t exactly going to tide you over until Fallout 5 is more tangible but hey, it’s a temporary distraction and as I said ‘Ghoul Within’ lands on 18 March too.
