Right now, you can claim a free copy of Dragon Age: The Veilguard but not everyone is happy about claiming the highly anticipated RPG.
When BioWare released Dragon Age in 2009, it became one of the developer's most popular RPGs alongside the likes of Baldur’s Gate, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire and Mass Effect.

By the time we saw the third major release in 2014 with Dragon Age: Inquisition following an expansion and sequel, the Dragon Age series was already well on its way to being one of the most beloved properties in all of the video game industry.

So imagine fans of the series' excitement after waiting a decade for its next game to arrive, Dragon Age: The Veilguard (formerly known as Dreadwolf).
In our review of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, GAMINGbible’s Emma said: “From the moment I stepped onto Minrathous’ streets, it felt like coming home. After such an agonising wait, the franchise I adore is back as strong as ever. It respects what’s gone before while also welcoming change and innovation.”
Being a major AAA release in the modern generation, it’s fair to expect Dragon Age: The Veilguard to be visually stunning, especially when being played on beast PCs. With that in mind, if you were planning on picking up BioWare’s latest RPG, you can claim it for free but there is a catch.
To claim your free copy of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, all you have to do is sign up for a six-month subscription to Nvidia’s GeForce Now Ultimate, the PC hardware manufacturer's answer to PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass.

By signing up to GeForce Now Ultimate, not only will you receive a digital copy of Dragon Age: The Veilguard to keep (even without a subscription), but you’ll also be able to play it powered by a GeForce RTX 4080 rig offering up to 4K resolution at 240 frames-per-second via the cloud.
Gamers on Reddit have been discussing the Dragon Age: The Veilguard freebie and it seems that not everyone is happy.
“It is "FREE" by signing up for six months, roughly a $129 subscription. not a one-month subscription,” exclaimed scandii. “When you buy six months of the Ultimate service,” Blazingscourge, reiterated.
“Why are some already deciding this is a bad thing? Almost every publisher deals with third parties, whether it’s Microsoft or Sony (Xbox Game Pass/PS Plus), Nvidia or AMD, perilousrob replied.

“I use GeForce for gaming, so £99 for six months is a great deal regardless,” said rejs7.
I get why some might be sceptical about having to sign up to GeForce Now Ultimate for at least six months to receive the free code for Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
However, it would be a rather silly business decision to give out codes for one of this year's biggest releases by signing up for a single month. In fairness, as a consumer, I’d be happy for that to happen, but realistically, that would never be the case.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is out this Friday on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The GeForce Now Ultimate offer ends on 30 October 2024.
