Dragon Age: The Veilguard free download is all yours to grab now

Dragon Age: The Veilguard free download is all yours to grab now

A dream freebie for customisation enthusiasts

BioWare knows what its fans want.

Disagree though you might, BioWare has homed in on one of the reasons we adore RPGs so much and ensured it’s accessible for everyone – even if you’re not a paying customer.

One of Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s impressive features is its customisation.

Some gamers simply choose their hair colour and eye colour, then proceed with an almost default appearance.

For me though, I enjoy spending hours creating a character.

You’ll know this well if you read my review of The Veilguard, where I praised the title for being a triumph.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is a thing of beauty. Check out its launch trailer before you leave.

Arguably, its character creator factored into my commentary, which is why this free download is such an exciting one.

You can now customise Rook without needing to purchase the game.

As part of its Dragon Age Day celebrations, BioWare unveiled this new app.

Now you can spend as long as you want, whenever you want, tweaking the appearance of your Rook.

What is more, should you then decide to purchase the game, or you already have it, you can import your final draft into the game.

If you’re wondering why such an app is needed, this freebie isn’t for you.

That said, this isn’t the only free download available for Dragon Age fans – patch four has also gone live.

Included in this update are several cosmetic options that allow your Rook to feel more like Hawke from DA2.

The smear of blood across the nose, as well as the associated body paint and armour, are now available upon visiting the Lighthouse. Provided you’ve completed ‘The Singing Blade’ quest.

And for those of you who crave further customisation options, two new complexions have been added to the Qunari lineage.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a Rook to customise. See you on the other side in say... ohhh, four hours?
