Dark Souls fans won’t want to miss this fantastic expansion mod for Dark Souls 3, which acts as a prequel to the game and even expands on its lore.
Unfortunately, it’s unlikely we’ll be getting a Dark Souls 4 anytime soon, as developer FromSoftware seems keen to create new worlds for players to explore, finalising its work on Elden Ring with the upcoming Shadow Of The Erdtree expansion.
Check out the gameplay trailer for Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree below.
That being said, hardcore fans are more than willing to create their own continuations and expansions for Dark Souls, with one of the most impressive being Dark Souls: Archthrones.

It’s a prequel to Dark Souls 3 that you can try for free right now, complete with new areas to explore, new enemies and bosses to slay, and even additional lore.
It completely overhauls the game and takes inspiration from games outside of the Dark Souls series like Demon Souls. The mod’s creator has said the level progression was inspired by Demon Souls, making for a more linear experience for those looking for it.
Players will also find a large variety of weapons, armour and other goodies never seen before in the series, allowing for the creation of brand-new gameplay builds to cater almost any play style.
A free demo of Dark Souls: Archthrones is available right now via NexusMods, giving you a taste of what the full experience could be like if you’re up for the challenge.

In other news, Elden Ring players are preparing themselves for the upcoming DLC expansion, which will apparently borrow Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice’s levelling system to prevent overlevelled players from steamrolling the new bosses.
Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree will release later this year on 20 June for Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms.
