Bloodborne 2 be damned, Dark Souls: Ashen Blood will keep you happy

Didn't want Bloodborne 2 anyway

Being a Bloodborne fan is not an easy way of life, especially with one half demanding an official PC port and the other half hoping for Bloodborne 2.

However, this free download is guaranteed to make the wait for either of those things a whole lot easier.

Go back ten years with the launch trailer for Bloodborne below!

This year celebrates the ten-year anniversary of Bloodborne’s release on the PlayStation 4 and despite pleas from fans, FromSoftware and Sony have failed to release a remaster or even hinted at a potential sequel.

As a result, the whole scenario has become something of a meme in the gaming community as a way for people to cope with the grief.

Nonetheless, one user has come up with a way to make the pain a little easier.

The Ashen Blood expansion.

Created as an expansion for Dark Souls 3, Ashen Blood aims to add “a single-player focused, Bloodborne-adjacent overhaul mod” to the game.

This overhaul mod will alter everything such as weapons, gameplay, enemies, map design, visual effects, and more.

Created by Jennisaurus715, Ashen Blood will receive plenty of more updates in the future but for now, players can get stuck into the demo.

So what exactly has been changed?

Well, a lot, to say the least, so let us take a look at some highlights.

One area the creator focused on is level design and here is what the description reads:

“More shortcuts, less bonfires, with an emphasis on exploration and enemy encounter design.

I want to create tension in finding the next shortcut back to the (sometimes singular) bonfire in the immediate area, with the inclusion of rally and blood vials encouraging you to keep pushing onward.

There are significant changes to enemy locations, map pieces, and treasures.

I also have some very hidden items to trade with Snuggly that reward thorough exploration (a full trade table to be implemented soon!).”

As you can see, this mod is very detailed and is worth trying out for those who own Dark Souls 3 on PC.
