BioShock 2, the most underrated entry in the 2K series has been treated to a major new-gen graphics overhaul and it looks better than ever.
Originally released in 2010 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, BioShock 2 takes place eight years after the critically acclaimed first game with players returning once more to the underwater utopia that is Rapture.
Check out the BioShock 2 trailer below!
Well, when we say “utopia”, Rapture, the brainchild of Andrew Ryan was far from perfect and ended up being hell underwater with its residents turning into maniacs thanks to the DNA-altering and volatile modifying drug known as ADAM.

It’s fair to say that BioShock 2 wasn't as well received as the original game that was released in 2007. But in my humble opinion, without giving anything away, BioShock 2 is a fantastic game with an interesting story and should not be overlooked.
With that in mind, whether you’re a returning player or have never played BioShock 2, if you’re a PC gamer, now is a great time to check out this under-appreciated classic.
As brought to our attention by DSOgaming, courtesy of modder FCH823, you can download an HD texture pack via Nexusmods for free, which quite frankly, does a better job of remastering BioShock 2 than the official 2016 re-release.
This free mod does exactly what you’d expect and it makes BioShock 2 look even more unnervingly gorgeous than it already was. In total, it remasters BioShock 2 with over 3,500 enhanced textures.

It’s worth mentioning that this meaty but impressive remaster goes from 13GB to 22GB once the file is unzipped. Furthermore, it’s not compatible with the original BioShock 2 of 2010 but instead, the official 2016 remaster that was included in BioShock: The Collection.
The entire BioShock series is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Hopefully, 2K will drop details on the radio-silent BioShock 4 at some point this year.
