At least when it comes to superhero games, few would argue that Batman: Arkham Asylum isn't one of the best video games of all time. What if I told you that it had just gotten even better?
When Batman: Arkham Asylum was released in 2009 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, it changed the mould of what is expected of a superhero game forever, putting the likes of the infamously dubbed Superman 64 in the rearview mirror. Well, kind of, because I doubt none of us can truly forget that monstrosity.

“Experience what it’s like to be Batman and face off against Gotham's greatest villains. Explore every inch of Arkham Asylum and roam freely on the infamous island,” reads the description of Batman: Arkham Asylum.

In 2016, Batman: Return to Arkham was released which included remasters of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City complete with all previously released DLC. However, while these two classic games are still great to this day, the remasters might not have been quite the improvement that many fans had expected.
Thankfully, if you game on PC, the talented work of modders will often have you covered and if you were disappointed with the official remaster of Batman: Arkham Asylum, then worry not. The mod created by JT211 is available for free now via Nexusmods called ‘Batman Arkham Asylum - Improved Quality - Enhanced Graphics’ and the Caped Crusader has never looked better when punching the residents of Arkham Asylum in the face.
This glorious mod improves the visuals of Batman: Arkham Asylum from its character models and environments to more realistic lighting and shadow effects. Judging by the gameplay uploaded to JT211’s YouTube channel, this remaster brings Batman: Arkham Asylum closer to the standard of Batman: Arkham Knight on PC.
