The Batman: Arkham series by Rocksteady Studios consists of four major instalments so it is no wonder that fans have their favourite.
One choice could be 2011’s Batman: Arkham City, the second instalment in the Batman: Arkham series and a direct sequel to 2009’s Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Telling the story of DC’s Batman, the game begins with the Caped Crusader incarcerated in Arkham City, a super-prison inside the decaying slums of Gotham City. To escape, he must uncover a sinister scheme orchestrated by the facility's warden, Dr. Hugo Strange.
However, with the title releasing back in 2011 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, it is quite outdated by today’s graphical standards but this one free download will give it a much-needed refresh.
Batman Arkham City - Extreme Graphics is available over on Nexus Mods and adds “extremely enhanced graphics” for the game. Additionally, it adds ReShade and Config edits.
The accompanying video shows various scenes from throughout the game with and without the updated graphics and textures and I don’t know about you, but the result is pretty impressive.

It seems I am not the only one that is impressed as fans soon took to the comments to share their impressions of the mod.
One said: “I like that the reflections and glows are a lot like the original game. I loved the atmosphere of the original two games. Great job.”
Another agreed, saying: “A bit overdone with the blacks and ambient occlusion, but otherwise looks pretty good.”
If you plan on diving back into the Batman: Arkham series, then there are thousands of mods available to bring the game up to today’s standards. Additionally, this Batman: Arkham Knight mod adds brand-new outfits for the Caped Crusader as well as some glorious, free new content.
