Normally, I’d ask if you’re on the lookout for a new game to lose yourself in, but we’re absolutely stacked with them right now.
Today marks the release of both Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. In our Spider-Man review, GAMINGbible’s Ewan wrote, “It’s hard not to come away from my time with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 grinning from ear-to-ear. This is an amazing fantasy come to life and realised like never before. Insomniac Games has crafted yet another heartfelt Spider-Man story bursting with twists, turns, and show-stopping spectacle,” and you can expect our thoughts on Mario Wonder to arrive soon. Don’t forget that in the coming weeks, we’ve got Alan Wake 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, and Super Mario RPG. If Elden Ring and Baldur’s Gate 3 are more your thing though, you may want to check out upcoming RPG Beast.
Take a look at Beast in action below.
Developed and published by False Prophet, Beast is set to launch Early Access on 25 October. It’s described as “a dynamic and brutal gridless tactical turn-based RPG where moral choices during battle influence the gameplay. In a grimdark mediaeval world, torn by plague and military conflicts, you decide if you should exercise or exorcise your inner beast with dire consequences for you and your allies.”

The game has been created in Unreal Engine 5 so you should expect delicious graphics and judging by the trailer, the campaign looks absolutely brutal. You’ll play as a veteran, “long presumed dead” after returning from a “10-year-long Ottoman slavery”. Your homeland has been taken over by a prophet king, who’s using his raiders and a cursed plague in order to rule the land. Your task is simple, well, sort of. Overthrow the king and defeat the plague. You’ll have to confront your own inner demons though.
There is a ‘beast system’ which allows you to push your ‘inner beast’, in other words, make terrible moral choices. There’s also “brutal and dynamic” combat and a world inspired by Carpathian legends. We can’t wait to check it out.
