We’re inching ever close to the full reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2.
Nintendo initially unveiled the console earlier this year, albeit in a very simplified manner.
The two-minute video confirmed the leaked Switch 2 model to be real, whilst also teasing the Joy-Cons’ mouse functionality and the existence of Mario Kart 9.

No information was given regarding specs, features, the console’s launch line-up, its price, or its release date.
Hopefully, all of that information will come during the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Direct.
If you need a reminder, that’ll be held 2 April at 2pm BST / 6am PDT.
Already, fans have taken to discussing what they’d like to see included in the console’s launch line-up alongside the aforementioned Mario Kart 9.

When it comes to The Legend of Zelda franchise though, there’s certainly a divide over what should land next in the series.
Take a look at the Nintendo Switch 2’s initial reveal below.
I’ll be honest, I think we’ll only get Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom remasters to begin with, but the opportunities open up when we look beyond that.

Reddit user GoodWarmMilk is hoping for “a fusion of the new open world formula (great open world and best sense of exploration) with the incorporation of what made the old Zelda (good dungeons, a few more epic moments, more memorable side quests and music, more combat etc)”.
Shas_Era agreed that it’s time to move on: “The engine for BotW and TotK seems to work well but there’s not much more can be done on that map. The sense of awe and exploration has been lost.”
“I want to see impressive graphics. They don’t need to be realistic but I want to see a wow factor,” added Pokeguy211.
“Honestly I just want to see Hyrule during its peak and thriving. Imagine being able to explore Castle Town freely with modern graphics,” SimSamurai13 suggested.

I do agree that when it is time for a new fully-fledged instalment, it’s perhaps best we have another refresh as incredible as Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom were.
A bit of patience is likely required before we reach that point though.
