The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild might be outdated compared to its sequel, but with the right mods it looks miles better.
It’s hard to pick which one I like more, Zelda: Breath Of The Wild or Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom as in many ways they’re the same game, but offer totally different gameplay experiences.
Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom might even be the best game ever released for the Nintendo Switch
With the news that Zelda: Breath Of The Wild could be getting a remaster on the Nintendo Switch 2 though it’s probably worth revisiting about now, and there’s arguably no better way to do so than filling it with performance mods.

We once again look at Digital Dreams, which recently shared a video of Link’s open-world adventure looking incredibly crisp.
Running on an RTX 4090 this ultra-modded gameplay shows our hero wandering the fields of Hyrule, battling monsters, in gorgeously animated environments, with a skyline to die for.
The visuals are phenomenal, so it’s a shame we need to do all of this to get them rather than just use our Nintendo Switch…
Don’t expect the Nintendo Switch 2 to give us these sorts of graphics either by the way, as while it’s a considerable upgrade over its predecessor it can’t possibly be this good, that might be a job for the Nintendo Switch 3…

It does beg the question though what exactly will this potential Zelda: Breath Of The Wild remaster be? It can’t just be a visual upgrade as the game doesn't look that bad by modern standards.
Perhaps it’ll introduce elements from Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, like some of the interactive environments or even some of the new abilities Link has in the sequel.
Guess we’ll just have to wait and see, if the remaster is even happening as Nintendo hasn’t confirmed it yet.
