Zelda fans hyped after long-awaited remaster quietly teased

Zelda fans hyped after long-awaited remaster quietly teased

Could it finally be happening?

It appears as if we’re going to see the year out without Nintendo having revealed a successor to the Nintendo Switch.

It was always going to be a possibility, with a reveal scheduled before the end of the fiscal year which ends in April 2025.

It’s whispers of a January reveal that are coming out of the rumour mill, with supposed accessories for the Nintendo Switch 2 popping up across the internet.

As such, discussions are rife about the console’s appearance, but so too are many wondering what the console’s launch line-up might be.

Pokémon Legends Z-A will surely be included after that “launching on Nintendo systems” tease.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the launch of the Switch 2 coincided with the release of Professor Layton and the New World of Steam too.

Alongside new releases though, we could also be seeing a familiar title return as there’s speculation over a potential The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker remake or port.

Take a look at the aforementioned Pokémon Legends Z-A in action below.

Get your clown make-up on, my friends.

But I will say that social media user pikzel08 has put together a rather interesting trail of clues.

The context you need before we proceed is that the original Wind Waker never received a South Korean translation. It was only the game’s packaging that was translated with the game launching in English.

This becomes significant when you venture over to Nintendo’s Korean website, which features a timeline of all of The Legend of Zelda entries.

The titles that received a Korean translation are listed using their Korean title. Those that didn’t use the game’s English title.

There is one exception: The Wind Waker.

It should read as The Wind Waker as a Korean translation was never made available but instead, it lists a native Korean title.

Since this was pointed out by eagle-eyed fans, the page was updated with the title returning to the original English - a tad suspicious.

As Podunk_Boy89 also points out, Wind Waker is the only Zelda soundtrack to be added to Nintendo’s new music app that isn’t natively available on Switch. Hm.

Of course, these could all be sheer coincidences so I’d urge you to take such speculation with a large pinch of salt, but I certainly wouldn’t rule out a Wind Waker revival of some sort either.
