The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time might be getting a remake.
As any Legend of Zelda player worth their salt will tell you, Ocarina of Time is one of the best experiences of the franchise.
But like with any other 28 year old game, time has caught up with it.

Seems fitting we sit back and enjoy the Ocarina of Time 3D trailer.
Compared to Tears of the Kingdom, Ocarina of Time doesn’t have that aesthetic polish so many crave from modern games.
Not that its dated looks have impacted its Metacritic score, which currently places it as the highest rated game on that website.

Given all the accolades that the game has amassed over the years, it shouldn’t be surprising that a remake has been teased.
Yet, as all Nintendo fans know uncomfortably well, Nintendo seems uneasy when it comes to remakes.
For some reason, there’s a reluctance there, especially in relation to Legend of Zelda.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it...

All of that could be changing, though.
Industry insider, @SamusHunter2, shared two images on Twitter alongside a caption reading: “It may be a little early for this tweet, but winter is coming and so new announcements.”
One image is of Link playing the ocarina, another is of Donkey Kong.
There are two conclusions one could quickly reach after seeing this post: Nintendo is working on new games for each corresponding franchise, or remakes are in the works.

“OCARINA REMAKE COMING LETS GOO,” commented @its_Elliott4.
User @Gohan19 said, “I will buy a Switch or even a Switch 2 if Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time gets a remake.”
Hype has clearly taken hold.
In an attempt to temper expectations, the OP shared another post saying, “I'll give you another hint for now: the Zelda picture is not a hint for a Zelda game. The picture is like a riddle for the title in question look at all the elements in that screen.”

Could this be a red herring? Perhaps. But it’s more likely that the leaker is trying to stop our hope from getting the better of us.
An Ocarina of Time remake has, kind of, been teased. However, a teaser isn’t always what it seems.
We’d love this speculation to be true, but we need Nintendo to confirm it before we get our hopes up.
