The arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2 did a lot to rejuvenate the existing array of Switch titles, as well as laying out the future for the company with the better tech on offer in the new console.

As well as the old games from the first Switch being compatible with the sequel console, many developers are returning to their old releases to bring new versions of their games to Switch 2 players.

One of those developers is Shin'en Multimedia, the team behind 2019 action-adventure title The Touryst, which released on the original Switch, as well as all the other major consoles and on Steam.

As first reported by Nintendo Life, The Touryst: Deluxe is on the way as a Switch 2 exclusive, with a whole bunch of new content and upgrades over the base version of the game.

The Touryst already performed well (supporting up to 240fps on PC), but the Deluxe release comes with greatly improved visuals in both handheld and docked mode. Players also get an additional island to explore and a monument, along with extra content in the existing areas of the game.

If you're wondering what it's all about, expect a healthy amount of puzzling and exploration, as you uncover the game world and the secrets the land has to offer. There are also several fun minigames that keep things varied and exciting as you move through The Touryst.

The voxel art style is also a real highlight, with the game's art style come in for particular praise in the player reviews over on Steam.

At the time of writing, there is no confirmed release date for The Touryst: Deluxe, but the developer has confirmed more news is on the way soon, with the full details of its arrival on virtual shelves likely amongst that.
