Nintendo is finally set to launch the Nintendo Switch 2 this year.
The console was formally unveiled last month but it was a rather short and unceremonious reveal.
In a short two-minute video, Nintendo confirmed the leaked model to be accurate and teased the existence of Mario Kart 9.

It’s not until April’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, due to be held on Wednesday 2, that we'll find out more.
Hopefully, it’s then that Nintendo will open up about the console’s specs, pricing, release date, and launch titles.
Clearly, Mario Kart 9 is going to be one of those launch titles with a third-party indie now also having been confirmed for the console.
Woodo is an upcoming cosy 3D puzzler, and the game recently confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be one of its launch platforms.

Take a look at Woodo in action below.
Developed by Tiny Monks Tales and set to be published by Daedalic Entertainment, Woodo centres around the character of Foxy.
It’s essentially a coming-of-age tale where players will have to piece together 3D wooden scenes in order to progress the story.

It sounds very simple, and it is, but this is a game with an exquisite level of attention to detail.
I had the opportunity to sample Woodo at last year’s Gamescom and it was easily one of my favourite games of the trip.
In my preview, I said, “Woodo is the work of just two developers, two developers with an incredible vision and wonderful sense of attention to detail. Many of us flock to the cosy genre because it provides us with a sense of calmness, it helps us to feel restored. I’m not sure I’ve ever encountered a game where that’s achieved to a greater degree than it is with Woodo.”
“A sunny morning walk, a warm cup of tea, a hug from a loved one … whatever it is that brings you peace, you’ll find that same sensation here.”

The game recently dropped its story trailer, confirming its launch platforms and interestingly, that includes the Nintendo Switch 2.
An accompanying press release read, “The game will be released on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 1+2, and the PC.”
Honestly, Woodo’s cosy nature feels as if it was made for the Switch and by default its successor.
This is easily one of the first games I’ll be loading up alongside Nintendo’s inevitable first-party exclusives.
