I’d say any news relating to games coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 should be taken with a large handful of salt, at this point.

Given that the console hasn’t even been announced formally, it’s hard to see any talk of possible launch games as anything but speculation. However, according to one report, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be one of those launch games.

Will Red Dead Redemption 2 appear as a Switch 2 launch title?

The rumour popped up on Discord from a known leaker in the industry who correctly predicted, and informed players about, the PlayStation 5 Pro and Nintendo Alarmo.

They report that the highly successful title from Rockstar Games will release for Nintendo Switch 2 on day one, giving Nintendo fans something to look forward to.

On the one hand, they’ve been right in the past. On the other, this could be guesswork, as Rockstar Games would be keen on getting their masterpiece in the hands of new players.

Either way, it’s likely, but not concrete information. Take that as you will.

Of course, neither party has commented on the possibility, and we’re still waiting for the Switch 2 to be shown publicly, which could happen as soon as this week.

For now, we’ll just have to hope this pans out to be true, as it would indeed be a boon for Nintendo fans who are eager to play the Western adventure.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has appeared on practically every other platform, and would not only sell well on Nintendo’s follow-up console, but it would be an ideal game to show off the power of the system.

I would imagine that if this actually happens, it will look tasty on the new hardware.

All eyes will be roving for official news, and once that comes out, we’ll be among the first to bring it to you.
