Pokémon fans ‘obsessed’ with our unexpected return to Sinnoh

Pokémon fans ‘obsessed’ with our unexpected return to Sinnoh

An unexpected but welcome trip

Sinnoh is a region, I believe it’s safe to say, that comes from one of the more popular generations of Pokémon.

Undoubtedly, we all have our favourite gen, but something about Gen 4 has us coming back for more.

Still, we didn’t expect to make a return trip without initially releasing it.

X user @TAHK0 shared an image of this surprise return, and since they pointed it out to us, let’s just say we’re as obsessed with it as the rest of the fandom.

Okay, but where is the Pokémon Legends: Z-A news? We need more information!

In the image, you can see the Spiritomb Pokémon TCG Pocket card with three specific elements circled in red. Next to it is a still from the Sinnoh region where you first encounter this ‘mon, also with three points circled.

Notice anything about them?

At first glance, I couldn’t make anything out either, but once you look closer you realise the card is referencing key environmental elements from the game.

Our minds have been blown, no word of a lie.

“I am obsessed with game canon Pokémon cards,” @TAHKO said.

What may surprise you even further is that this isn’t a new aspect of the cards, as the same user explains.

“These have been around for years but I think people just didn’t realise it so they didn’t know to look – so I’m glad I could help spread the good word.”

Social media user @Duelist360 responded by pointing out another game canon card, this time about Drifloon.

They said, “Check out Drifloon. The calendar shows every Friday marked with a Drifloon stamp because Drifloon only appears at the Valley Windworks on Friday.”

Returning to the Spiritomb card, it turns out there are more secrets to be discovered, you just need to look really closely.

“I JUST pulled this card 20 mins ago and the BDSP-styled Lucas in the corner jumped scared me,” shared @Berardbro. “Would love to see more cards give the in-game visuals a nod like that.”

We, like other fans, long to keep seeing cards with this attention to detail in them.
