Who wants a freebie for the most recent entry of the ever-popular Pokémon series for the Nintendo Switch? Of course you do, otherwise, you wouldn't be here.
The first games in the Pokémon series arrived in 1996 for the original Game Boy, the same year as the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Since that time, we’ve seen TV anime series and movies, live-action adaptations, countless merchandise and so much more. Pokémon is so continually popular that it wouldn't be surprising if it's still around 100 years from now.

Since 1996, we’ve seen new Pokémon games arrive every year, apart from this year, it seems. At a recent Pokémon Presents digital event, Pokémon Legends Z-A was announced to be released in 2025 for Nintendo Switch with some fans hoping that it simultaneously launches for the Switch 2. Whether that happens or not, remains to be seen.

The most recent mainline entries in the Pokémon series are Scarlet and Violet which launched for the Nintendo Switch in 2022 and were also supported by The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk expansions the following year. So it seems quite baffling that by the time the next Pokémon game arrives, we will have been waiting roughly three years. Hopefully, until then, you’ll be having fun with endgame content with the likes of Scarlet and Violet.
However, whether you’re new or a veteran player of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you can claim a free starter Pokémon to add to your Pokédex with Liko’s Sprigatito. Liko is the main protagonist of the newest TV series, Pokémon Horizons. We know that Sprigatito is already a starter Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet, but if you have already picked any of the other two starters, Fuecoco or Quaxly, then this free download is a bonus.
What’s more, Liko’s Sprigatito starts as a level five with the moves Scratch and Leafage. To claim this version of Sprigatito, all you have to do is enter the code L1K0W1TH906 in the Mystery Gift section via the main menu of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. You have until 30 September 2024 to redeem the code, so there’s no major rush.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is out now for the Nintendo Switch.
